An infected boil on the butt of humanity. He’s achieved nothing, harmed many, and the world is worse for having him in it. His pattern: mismanage millions, ruin lives for spite, lie to colleagues & CEOs so confidently & easily that it’s as shocking as it is horrifying to witness. He’s rude, he’s small, he’s unintelligent & incurious with a temper.Tantrums: often. Poor personal hygiene, host to a wide spectrum of dangerous Cluster B traits. Grooms is awful to work with, ride in car with, or do business travel with. Most successful thing hes done: keep failing upwards w/years-long stints of unemployment in between. I’ve followed his career since our co-working time (same level) and watched him loot and ruin no less than 3 companies, often in under 1 year. He drinks, he spends, he lies, till the C-suite catches on and fires him. Rinse & repeat. He’s unemployed again and on the hunt for his next company to loot & ruin. Beware of John Grooms.

Chronic liar; fired from LS tractor in 2025 but still lists it on his resume. Previous job lasted 6 months, made zero sales and lies about that too. Lies to leadership, dealers, employees consistently. Most untrustworthy, least successful man I’ve ever met

He's an iconic salesman
If by “iconic,” you mean “embarrassing drunk failure who hasn’t closed a deal in 20 years,” then sure. Iconic is one word you could use
Worked with him for over a year and he sold $0 dollars worth and sabotaged sales of staff he didn’t like. Has anyone seen him sell anything?
Intelligence chases him, but John Grooms is faster.

Bully
Somehow keeps faking his way into jobs, he lasts about a year before they realize how bad he is and then he’s on to the next company to drag down

Run if you see him coming

John Grooms was a horrible boss and is a terrible person

You know how some people are really dumb, but believe they’re very smart? John Grooms is the dumbest, but thinks he’s the smartest. Awful boss, even worse as a coworker. If you see him coming to join your team - run

Women should maintain a safe distance and never be alone in a room with him. Be cautious about riding in a car he drives or giving a company car or rental. Prone to negligence, bullying, and draining corporate bank accounts. Strategy- not his forte. His grand plan to save the company that he wrecked involved forcing employees to promote and astroturf on their personal social media accounts. Regularly hosted drunken late night “sales meetings” in his hotel room at night whenever travel was involved, and he called that “team building.” He did not sell a single piece of equipment, sign a single dealer or partnership, or solve even one problem during the entirety of his brief tenure. Is obsequious to the point of giving second-hand embarrassment with people he perceives as powerful. Unable to compose a grammatically correct email, and deeply committed to misunderstanding legal concepts when it suits him. WhenTruly, sincerely the worst human I have ever had the misfortune of working with.
