Brian Gordon

Brian is the CFO but does not know anything about money. He has presided over the gutting of the library budget, shifting nearly all the resources to departments he controls directly. Increases in spending on business side items, but nearly zeroed out the budget to collect library materials. Allowed lavishly on trips and accommodations and meals for him and the president in violation of company rules. The long term implication of his tenure is likely the end of the Linda Hall Library as the collection damage is too great to continue as an active library. As if all that were bad enough, he spends excessively on consultants because he has no actual business acumen. It has been widely reported that he was in a long term affair with his direct report until she ultimately left the library. That employee was completely incompetent, failed repeatedly to meet deadlines, and was promoted and give large pay increases. They fired the President, but nothing changes until Brian is gone, too.
